So we know the symptoms, the benefits and side-effects of  “woulda, coulda, shoulda” now let’s create a plan for treatment!

Where to begin?  Well the first step is to realize you have a “problem” and that you are tired of suffering and struggling with all the WCS (woulda, coulda, shoulda’s) in your business.

The Treatment Plan: Online and Offline

Let’s start with a common problem, “I woulda, coulda, shoulda recognized my team members”

Online Treatments: I’ve talked before about the power in using an email marketing service like Constant Contact (my preferred and recommend service) but any service you currently have will work, even some companies have email marketing services within your back office, so check there first.

The power lies in your ability to create beautiful templates, pictures, links, add documents and really personalize your message in a way that is fun and exciting.  You cannot get that from a regular email.

Keep your team members appreciated, recognized and motivated is critical to not only their success but ultimately your own, so take some time to help them feel important.

Create and send a monthly celebration newsletter

End of the month is always a big push, so you want to run a month end report and highlight the accomplishments of your downline.  Seeing their names recognized in a team newsletter is always thrilling, and can even encourage some “healthy competition” too.

Delegate it!  A trusted support person can run the month end report and draft the newsletter for you

Create and schedule a series of welcome emails

New consultants need LOTS of “love” starting off, so help guide them to start strong.  If you already use your regular email to send information to new consultants, consolidate it and put it into a series of emails (ie; autoresponder) that can go out when a new consultant is added to your team.  This will keep you in touch with them, and guide them along the way, without having to personally remember to send each email.

Delegate it!  A retained support person can check your downline report for new consultants and add them to the autoresponder so the emails go out regularly

Take it offline

There is something to be said about the power of a physical card received in the mail.  It can be pinned to a dream board, placed in their planner or book to remember the message behind it.  If you do nothing else, creating a system around sending personal notes to your team is the one I most recommend.  While I believe Send Out Cards has the best system for this, you can easily get postcards from vista-print or buy some at the dollar store.

Here’s my bonus tip…draft your message for frequent cards, like “welcome to the team”, “congratulations on your new team member” or even “thanks for your order” once you have the wording write it out onto one of the cards, so when you need to send a card out you simply re-write the message onto a new card and mail it, no more stumbling for the right words!  I use the same process in creating campaigns in Send Out Cards, when we find a message that works, we can easily create a card that will go out in a personal handwriting font and signature.

Delegate it!  A dedicated support person can work with you to determine when you want a card to be sent, they can then create the card campaign, or hand-write the personal notes that you draft together

The best way to treat WCS is to start taking ACTION!  Put a plan in place to remedy the WCS that is bothering you the most.  Start to build in these steps to recognize your team, even if you only take one step at a time and spread it out over several months.  If you want a personalized treatment plan, contact me for a complementary strategy session and let’s put an end to WCS once and for all!
