I had a goal; it was a big and scary but awesome goal.  A few years ago I set out on my journey to make my goal a reality.  It was a long journey with ups and downs, and many moments that out of fear or disappointment or desperation that I almost quit it but, I just couldn’t give it up.  My goal was stronger than me at times.

Even in my moments of despair I couldn’t give up on my goal, it was important to me.  It became a part of me and somehow deep down inside I knew it would become real, even when I was scared to death it wouldn’t.  My goal was deep inside my core belief.

When the journey became difficult, I had the love and support of my family and friends, even when they didn’t always see that it would come true, I did.  The coaches I hired and friends I made in similar situations helped support and listen when I doubted and struggled.  My goal supported me when I doubted.

So many great moments happened along the way.  I achieved many amazing accomplishments in my quest to reach my goal, rewarding steps in the journey.  I grew, I changed, and I learned and discovered so much more about myself.  I adapted and flowed with the process.  Each reward and set back was a lesson learned.  My goal taught me to adapt, change and grow.

Recently, I once again feared maybe my goal may not come true, it taught me the most important lesson of all, that it takes time, purposeful action, dedication, and faith that when the time is right the goal will come true.  I set so many deadlines for my goal, and each time they came and went, but ultimately my goal reached its destination when it really was the right time.  I could never know that I was ready until I simply wasMy goal taught me patience.

Sure I’ve had other goals before, and I would set them out only to give them up faster than it took to create the goal in the first place.  But not this goal, this goal was different, it was special it had depth and I took on this goal with the dedication it deserved.  Not every goal is worthy, but when we find the goal that is and we set it out on our path, well I’m here to tell you that goal is the most satisfying goal of them all!
