Hello Superstars!!
If you are a fan of my facebook page you may have seen my post with The Golden Rule VA Bee, and how I thought our mascot bee needed a name. Well I’ve decided to have some fun and run a contest to…
“Name The Bee”
The winner will receive their choice of a $10 Gift Card from Starbucks or Barnes and Noble!!
Let me tell you a little bit about the story behind the bee to help you with developing a name.
When I came up with the name for my business “The Golden Rule VA” I immediately had an image of a bee in my mind to represent all the great things I love about Direct Sales and the amazing women (that’s YOU Superstars!) who are building their businesses in this fantastic industry. Part of that inspiration came from this quote from Mary Kay Ash:
“Aerodynamically, the bumble bee shouldn’t be able to fly, but the bumble bee doesn’t know it so it goes on flying anyway.”
The hard part then was finding just the “right” bee to represent The Golden Rule VA, but when I found this little bee on her laptop I was in love and knew I had found my perfect brand mascot! Many of you have told me how much you love my little bee, and now I think it’s time to gi ve her a name.
How to play “Name The Bee”?:
- Post your name suggestion on either my Facebook Page: www.Facebook.com/TheGoldenRuleVA
OR

You may suggest as many names as you like, but please do so by January 31, 2011!!

Beena. I have a wonderful friend by the name of Bina! She’s adorable just like this little bee! :):)
Oh how very sweet! Thanks for the suggestion!
Polly the Bea – bees pollinate flowers in the spring and because of their part we get beautiful flowers blossoming everywhere. Also, Pollyanna was one of my favorite movies – a do anything gal who cheered up a whole town. Your cute bee looks like she can do that and a whole lot more!
I also really like Petals (Petalina) – she’s pretty and uses her influence for positive growth whether it be a flower or a business.
Phoe-bee – This name means light and brightness. Someone who brings hope and inspires others. It also refers to someone who guides the way. It is the name of the beautiful Greek moon goddess, a respected and well-liked deity. 🙂
Queen Bea or Queenie for short – because she’s a royal beauty! 🙂
Another one? Melina – the bee is a melliafera (honey bearers). They inspire growth, nurture, and spread sweetness around. Melina as a name is a like a sprinkle of fresh water, a lovely word to speak aloud and means honey or bright yellow. Yellow is a color of sun and optimism. Your bee looks like a happy, educated gal who likes to spread good cheer, encouragement, and kindness. Also, the end result of pollination honey is a community effort because when the whole hive helps to build something beautiful and wonderful everyone benefits and great things happen!
And don’t forget the wonderful nicknames that derive from Melina – Melly, Lina, etc. Plus, Mel is always a fun and strong nickname!
Thanks for letting us help out!! My name suggestion is The Hive!
Another one is Bee-zy Body
It is so funny because I was lieing awake one morning and was thinking of names for your bee and then I forgot to tell you what I came up with.
Anyway, how about the name “Goldie” or “Goldy”… not sure of the spelling. But I think that would be appropriate since you are the “Golden Rule VA” and “Goldy” can be your mascot. And also honey is gold.
Well, that is my suggestion. 🙂
